If you are a ration card beneficiary, your child can enroll in any private school for free.
Every private school offers admission under RTE for 25% of the seats. The government bears the fees for the children studying in these seats. This was implemented by the state government from 2021, but now online applications have started for the financial year 2026-27. After admission under RTE, the child can continue his education up to class 8 free of cost.
Who can avail this facility:
Socially and educationally backward families, families living below poverty line, BPL and beneficiaries of government poverty alleviation programs. Simply put, people holding ration cards can enroll their children in private schools for free if they want. Under this Right to Education Act, orphans and children belonging to the disabled category can also get education in private schools.
This facility is suitable for those whose annual family income is maximum 1 lakh (up to 2 lakhs for certain categories). Most importantly,
The home school should be located within 1 to 3 kilometers from the child’s residence.
What are the documents required :
- -Child’s birth certificate (age certificate)
- -Residential certificate (Aadhaar, ration card, electricity bill etc.)
- -Family income certificate
- -Caste certificate (if any)
- -Homeless, begging child
- -Special category certificate (Divyang, HIV+, orphan, etc.)
- -Parent’s identity card (Aadhaar card)
- -Passport size photograph
- -Martyr’s child (death certificate)
- -Government hospital certificate (Divyang / HIV affected or infected child).
How to register students:
-First go to the website rteparadarshi.odisha.gov.in.
-Open the website and click on registration.
-Fill the required details after opening the form.
-You will get a registration number on your mobile phone, this registration number will be required during the lottery.
-After filling all the details, click on the “Save and Next” button.
-Finally click on the “Submit” button.
