Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a flagship housing scheme launched by the Government of India in 2015 with the vision of providing “Housing for All” by 2022. It aims to offer affordable housing to the economically weaker sections (EWS), low-income groups (LIG), and middle-income groups (MIG) in both urban and rural areas. The scheme provides financial assistance for new construction, home improvement, and interest subsidies on housing loans. PMAY has two components: PMAY-Urban and PMAY-Gramin, addressing the needs of different populations. This initiative promotes inclusive development and improved living standards across the country.

Required Documents :

Aadhaar card (for all adult family members)
Identity proof: PAN / voter‑ID / passport / driving license
Address proof: utility bill, Aadhaar, etc.
Income proof: salary slips, ITR, Form‑16, or income certificate
Property valuation documents, construction agreement, approved plan, NOC as applicable
Affidavit affirming you/family don’t own a pucca house.

How to apply PMAY‑Gramin (PMAY‑G / Rural)

Go to pmayg.nic.in or the official rural portal
Enter Aadhaar details, contact info, bank details, and job card info (if applicable)
Optionally use the Awaas Plus self‑survey app to register yourself .

How to apply Offline Application Process ?

Visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC), empanelled bank branch, or post office
Fill in the PMAY form (fee ~ ₹25 + GST; note: no other private entity is authorized to charge)
Submit form with supporting documents
For PMAY‑G, apply via your Gram Panchayat or ward office .
